Opera in the New World

Starting in Lima at the dawn of the 18^th Century, this course explores some highlights of the operatic repertoire created in the Americas. Our musical journey will take us from baroque Peru to modern day USA with works by Torrejón y Velasco, Barber, Bernstein and Glass, among others, and back to South America with Piazzolla’s tango opera!
