Discovering the Madrigal

The Madrigal appeared in Italy around 1520 and in England some 70 years later and lasted well into the 17th century as the quintessential form of courtly composition for several voices. During this course we will discover the richness of this most intricate musical form, while listening to some of the greatest music from the Renaissance and the Elizabethan court.
